Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party convened a special meeting at its head office to discuss the very deteriorating health condition of its incarcerated chairman, Mr Shabir Ahmad Shah in Tihar jail Delhi. The meeting was presided over by the party secretary general Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari which expressed concern over and strongly condemned the attitude of Indian government and the jail authorities towards Shabir Shah. It was said that medical experts have also termed the condition of Shabir Shah as worrisome. The meeting was told that Shabir Shah was taken to JB Panth hospital Delhi, on Nov 13 where doctors conducted his “Hutt” test and was found positive. He was later on taken Safderjung hospital in a critical condition where doctors installed holter on the ailing leader. Shah was again taken to the same hospital on Nov 18 to open the holter. The eyewitnesses who saw Mr Shah in the hospital informed the party that Shah was turned into a skeleton. The party has come to know that doctors at Safderjung hospital strongly advised immediate surgery for a Pacemaker on Mr Shah however the jail authorities did not pay any heed towards the doctor’s advice putting the life of Mr Shah in danger. It was said that even Mr Shah was taken to hospital on the court direction however the authorities do not take the matter seriously and they are instead trying to silence the effective voice of our freedom once for all

We know this all is being executed to revenge Mr Shah for his transparent and pro-people political stance about the Kashmir dispute that is why from judiciary to jail authorities and to the Indian media, every Indian institution is biased towards him. The meeting resolved that every party worker and every freedom loving citizen of Jammu and Kashmir is very much concerned about the failing health condition of Mr Shah so the Indian government should take immediate steps to safeguard our leader by admitting him in some reputed institution like AIIMS otherwise we will have no other option than to come on roads. It was stressed upon Indian government not to take the silence of lakhs of admirers of Shah as their weakness and stop political vendetta against Shabir Shah. The meeting also stressed upon the international and regional human rights organisations to take the matter seriously and use their good offices to safeguard “the prisoner of conscience” and take practical steps for his immediate release. The meeting also resolved that Shabir Shah is the icon of the ongoing freedom struggle and every party worker, office bearer and all freedom loving people of the disputed region are behind Mr Shah. Shah sahib has spent more than half of his life in jails and still he is safeguarding the joint sacrifices of the nation by languishing behind the bars. The meeting resolved to take the political mission of Mr Shah forward at any cost. The meeting appealed people to pray for their beloved leader. Thanks
